MSU Welcomes Prof. Roy Chantrell, an Expert on Theoretical Physics and Magnetics
On June 28, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prayook Srivilai, President of Mahasarakham University, welcomed Prof. Roy Chantrell, an esteemed expert on theoretical physics and magnetics from the University of York, United Kingdom. Prof. Roy Chantrell has been granted a Visiting Professor Program from Mahasarakham University Development Fund to cooperate with MSU lecturers in publishing research and push towards international recognition. This visit of Prof. Roy Chantrell was organized by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jessada Chureemart, Head of Research Unit on Magnetic Information Storage Technology (MINT) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phanwadee Chureemart, a lecturer at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Sciences, MSU.
Prof. Roy Chantrell has pioneered the application of physics knowledge into industrial sections for the development and design of technology on spintronics, magnetic materials for electronic vehicles, and medical technology. For over 30 years he has been an outstanding researcher and has exceeded 600 international publications and 22,956 citations, h-index 76 and i10-index 337.
Furthermore, he has received various international awards including the 1994 Wohlfarth lecture, IEEE distinguished lecturer for 2000, Seagate technical achievement award 2004 and Achievement Award of the IEEE Magnetics Society 2018, which is the highest award of the IEEE Magnetic Society granted to an outstanding researcher.
