Office of General Education Organizes “MSU BCG Business Model Pitching Competition”
On April 24th 2023, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Prayook Srivilai, President of Mahasarakham University gave an opening speech of the “MSU BCG Business Model Pitching” which is a part of MSU BCG (Bio, Circular and Green Economy) Hackathon organized by Office of General Education, Mahasarakham University. The MSU Science Park provided the winning teams of the Model Pitching Competition with one million baht to use as operating funding for this project.
Before participating in today’s competition, the students would be selected from the business idea competitions in the first round, including “BCG and the Propulsion of Thailand” and “Business Model Canvas and Pitching Techniques Training” on April 20th 2023, to receive training in several topics that will help them become more successful entrepreneurs later on. They would then participate in the MSU BCG Hackathon during April 22nd-23rd 2023 at S-Tawan Hotel, Muang District, Maha Sarakham University. In order to gain points during the competition and to get ready for being a good entrepreneur after the competition, students must solve four entrepreneurship-related problems as part of the project.
Today’s activities consisted of all 15 teams pitching their business ideas to three expert judges including Mr. Surathin Thamrongphantawanich (Vice President of Mahasarakham Provincial Industrial Council), Mr. Kiatjarat Kaewphuang (owner of OK Farm) from Roi Et Province, and Dr. Warawut Nakboonnam, lecturer management major, Mahasarakham Business School. The selected teams will receive a scholarship of 100,000 baht for engaging in business on over 32,000 m2 of Sufficiency Economy Demonstration agricultural plots in Mahasarakham University.
