The 6th International Conference on Radiation and Emission in Materials (ICREM 2024)
On November 27, 2024, the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, MSU, in collaboration with the Thai Association of Radiation and Particles, organized the 6th International Conference on Radiation and Emission in Materials (ICREM 2024) from November 27-29, 2024, at the Pullman Khon Kaen Raja Orchid Hotel in Khon Kaen Province. Assoc. Prof. Prayook Srivilai, Acting President of Mahasarakham University, presided over the opening ceremony, while Dr. Keerathiya Chanphong, President of the Thai Association of Radiation and Particles, delivered a report on the objectives of the event. The conference aimed to build networks for academic and research collaboration at both national and international levels in the field of radiation and emission in materials. It also serves as a platform for presenting research and innovations from faculty members, researchers, and students through both lectures and poster presentations. Over 200 participants registered for the event.
This conference serves as an important opportunity to further academic cooperation in teaching and research between universities and various organizations, both domestically and internationally. The event was honored to have experts from various fields as speakers, presenting cutting-edge content and inspiring participants, including:
- Professor Su-Huai Wei from Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo, China, gave a lecture on
“Mechanism of ionizing radiation and nonradiative recombination in wide-band-gap semiconductors“ - Professor Hiroki Akasaka from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, gave a lecture on
“Evaluation of carbon bonding changes in diamond-like carbon films using synchrotron radiation“ - Professor Yasuharu Ohgoe from Tokyo Denki University, Japan, gave a lecture on
“Relationship between sp2 structure and surface functionalities in DLC films for biological response“ - Professor Gregor Primc from Jozef Stefan Institute, Slovenia, gave a lecture on
“A Combination of Advanced Oxidation Processes to Tackle the Degradation of Organic Matter“ - Dr. Phenphichar Wanachantararak from Chiang Mai University, Thailand, gave a lecture on
“Nonthermal bioplasma properties and its applications for dentistry: A review update intend“
Other speakers presented topics covering technologies and innovations in radiation and emission in materials. Additionally, an exhibition was held with eight leading sponsor companies showcasing technologies, products, and innovations in the field of radiation. The organization of ICREM 2024 marked a significant step in promoting research and fostering collaboration between scholars both domestically and internationally, helping enhance Thailand’s scientific and technological capabilities on the global stage.
