MSU Welcomes Researchers from Three Countries to Strengthen International Research Collaboration

On January 6, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Prayook Srivilai, Acting President of Mahasarakham University, together with Asst. Prof. Pondej Chaowarat, Vice President for Public Relations and Global Engagement, welcomed Prof. Stephen Kershaw (Brunel University London; Natural History Museum, United Kingdom), Dr. Qijian Li (Nanjing Institute of Geology and Paleontology, China), and Dr. Juwan Jeon (Korea University, Republic of Korea). The visit was part of their participation in the second year of the project to integrate a network of outstanding fossil sites in Southeast Asia to promote museum-based paleontology and natural history tourism.

This initiative aims to foster research collaboration and co-authoring of academic works between faculty members/researchers and renowned international experts, enhancing the university’s global image. It also seeks to establish the university’s Biodiversity Research Center with an advisory board composed of distinguished foreign experts.

Assoc. Prof. Mongkol Udchachon, Director of the Paleontological Research and Education Centre, facilitated a meeting and briefing with the Acting President of Mahasarakham University. The discussion focused on strengthening academic collaboration and knowledge exchange, with an emphasis on joint research efforts and the development of integrated curricula.
