MSU Joins in Celebrating the 248th Anniversary of U.S. Independence
On July 2, 2024, the U.S. Embassy in Thailand hosted a reception to celebrate the 248th Anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America. The event took place at Topgolf Megacity in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan province. Robert F. Godec, the U.S. Ambassador to Thailand, delivered the opening remarks and extended a gracious welcome to distinguished guests from diverse sectors. Asst.Prof. Pondej Chaowarat, Vice President for Public Relations and Global Engagement, attended the event as the university’s representative, emphasizing the institution’s significant educational partnerships.
Mahasarakham University established the MSU American Corner (MAC) in 2013. MAC is currently managed and operated by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, MSU. This center serves as an educational hub for language and cultural studies, enriching the learning experience for university students. According to the support from the U.S. Embassy in Thailand, the initiative receives funding and educational media support, ensuring modern educational technologies are available. Moreover, various projects support teaching, and scholarships for students and staff, positioning Mahasarakham University as a prominent Thai educational institution involved in the International Academic Partnership Program (IAPP). This program links over 50 Thai and U.S. universities to enhance teaching, student and staff exchanges, and collaborative research endeavors in future projects.
