MSU Discusses Academic Cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Cambodia
MSU and Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports have discussed further cooperation in the field of education throughout the 2025 academic year. The discussion took place on December 23, 2024, in Phnom Penh between MSU’s Dr. Sarinthree Udchachone, Assistant to the President for Public Relations and Global Image, and Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Kingdom of Cambodia.
During the discussion Dr. Sarinthree Udchachone reaffirmed the continuation of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Scholarship fund, through which MSU and the Royal Government of Thailand provide both full and partial scholarships to Cambodian students.
Dr. Hang Chuon Naron thanked MSU for supporting Cambodia’s education sector, recalling that the university has so far provided scholarships for 257 Cambodian students, 220 of whom have returned home, and used their skills to fulfill their respective jobs successfully. The deputy prime minister also spoke highly of the good collaboration between the ministry and MSU, particularly the university’s technical support to learning and teaching Thai language in Cambodia.
The meeting focused on student exchanges and organizing activities to strengthen Thai-Cambodian relations, which MSU continues to pursue.
