From 16th to 31st January, 2025, Mahasarakham University is hosting the exhibition “68th National Exhibition of Art On Tour” at the Prapiganesuan Art Gallery, Faculty of Fine-Applied Arts and Cultural Science, MSU. Prof. Tanupon En-On, Head of the Department of Visual Arts, shared the background of the project.

The National Exhibition of Art has been held annually for 68 consecutive years. The Department of Fine Arts, as a governmental agency responsible for supporting and promoting the preservation and creation of the nation’s artistic and cultural heritage, collaborates with Silpakorn University to organize the event. This initiative aims to encourage artists nationwide to create artworks, contributing to the development of the Thai art scene and advancing it on a global level. Silpakorn University Art Gallery recognizes the importance of showcasing award-winning and selected artworks to the public, providing students from schools, colleges, and universities nationwide with the opportunity to view and learn from these creations.

The 68th National Exhibition of Art includes touring exhibitions held in Bangkok, the South, the North, the Northeast, and the East. In the Northeast, the exhibition takes place at two institutions: the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Khon Kaen University, and the Faculty of Fine-Applied Arts and Cultural Science, MSU. The displayed works are selected and judged by an expert committee in the field of art. The exhibition features a total of 30 pieces, including six award-winning artworks—one silver medal and five bronze medals—and 24 additional selected works.

This exhibition aims to disseminate nationally recognized and selected artworks to regional audiences in the Northeast. It fosters an understanding of aesthetic value among the public and promotes an environment of artistic learning and creativity among students in the region.

The exhibition is open to the public free of charge from January 16 to 31, 2025, at the Prapiganesuan Art Gallery, Faculty of Fine-Applied Arts and Cultural Science, MSU.
