MSU Invites You to Run in the MSU RUNNING 2024 Event – All Proceeds Go Towards Purchasing Medical Equipment

MSU has announced the upcoming MSU RUNNING 2024 event, scheduled for Sunday, December 1, 2024. The proceeds, after expenses, will be donated to Suddhavej Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, MSU, to help purchase medical equipment and provide scholarships for MSU students. The University encourages everyone to join the run for health, promoting exercise while supporting a good cause. On September 30, 2024, Assoc.Prof. Prayook Srivilai, Acting President of Mahasarakham University, alongside Asst.Prof. Monrodee Chaowarat, Vice President for Student Affairs and University Council Affairs; Asst.Prof. Teabpaluck Sirithanawuttichai, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Asst.Prof. Rutta Sonsuparp, Director of Suddhavej Hospital; and Ms. Sumalee Suwannakorn, President of the MSU Alumni Association, discussed preparations for MSU RUNNING 2024 at the Boromrajakumari Hall, MSU.

Assoc.Prof. Prayook Srivilai stated that the MSU RUNNING 2024 event will be held for the fourth time, with the “Muekkamas or the Golden Deer” mascot symbolizing this year’s event. This year’s run will complete a special four-part medal collection, which will include the leopard, the yak, the bees, and the golden deer, representing the university’s unique mascots.

The event will feature themed designs for race shirts, medals, and trophies, centred around “Nong Fun Fun” a playful, cute deer inviting participants to join the fun and adventure while exploring the scenic campus surroundings in the fresh morning air. After expenses are covered, all proceeds will be donated to Suddhavej Hospital, MSU, to help purchase modern medical equipment and provide scholarships to students. Alumni, students, university staff, local residents, and the public are all encouraged to join this charitable run.

Asst.Prof. Monrodee Chaowarat added that the MSU RUNNING 2024 is a collaborative effort of staff and students from 19 faculties, along with the MSU Alumni Association. The event aims to promote health, help patients, and support students in need.
This event is set to take place on Sunday, December 1, 2024. This event shows an opportunity for everyone to focus on their health, starting with a walk or run to stay fit. Everyone is invited to be a part of Mahasarakham University’s health promotion initiative.

Start-Finish Location: Central Field 1 (Blue Field), next to the Gymnasium Building, MSU
Race Distances:
- Fun Run (5 km)
- Mini Marathon (10 km)

Registration Fees and Benefits:

5 km Race: 400 THB – Includes a white race shirt, medal, BIB, and a trophy for 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place.
10 km Race: 600 THB – Includes a blue race shirt, medal, BIB with a timing chip, and a trophy for 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place.
VIP Registration: 1,000 THB – Includes a green race shirt (choose one distance), medal, and BIB with timing chip.
VVIP Registration: 2,000 THB – Includes a jacket, VIP shirt (choose one distance), medal, and BIB with timing chip.
