The Faculty of Veterinary Sciences cooperated with the Faculty of Medicine (Applied Thai Traditional Medicine) and the Faculty of Informatics (Geoinformatics) in organizing a project for the development of community health called “COMMED MSU 2023”. This project took place in four villages located in Wapi Pathum district, Maha Sarakham province from December 20 – 24, 2023.
This project has been organized annually for the past 13 years. It is a collaboration between the three faculties in health sciences under the concept of “One Health”. The students could apply their knowledge to practice their skills, exchange knowledge and learn from practical experiences. The activities included providing health care services for villagers and pets, and educating villagers about disease protection and geoinformatics management. In addition, the students had a chance to live with local people, learning their way of life and share experiences together. They also had an opportunity to participate in the Local Drum Festival, which is an annual festival of Wapi Pathum district. On the last day of this project, the students summarized their learning experiences and presented beneficial information that will be useful for people in the communities.
