MSU organized community development project “COMMED MSU 2022”

With the cooperation of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, the Faculty of Medicine (Applied Thai Traditional Medicine) and the Faculty of Informatics (Geoinformatics) mutually organized community development project named “COMMED MSU 2022”. The activity was operated from November 28 – December 2, 2022 at Ban Mak Ya, Hui-Eng sub-district, Muang district, Maha Sarakham province. The project included the following activities; cooperative learning by using community-base, survey, public hearing and training program such as Thai massage training by using herbal compress, animal health and prevention, satellite map operation with the knowledge of Geoinformatics. The training program enhanced community’s knowledge to preserve health of people in community and their pets. In addition, this project was an opportunity for group of the student spending their life with people in the community. They learnt the way of life in rural community and tried to harmonize themselves with local people through a relationship activity such as traditional thresh rice activity. The knowledge from their survey and data collection in the community will be proceeded for community development in the future.

The cooperation of the three faculties has operated for 12 years. The project aims to integrate interprofessional knowledge, especially on health science and technology to develop quality of life of people in communities with the concept of One Health.
