On May 4, 2018, His Excellency Mr. Paul Robilliard, Australian Ambassador to Thailand, hosted a reception to congratulate Thai researchers, which are the former Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships alumni, participating in the Australia – Thailand Endeavour Research Alumni Mentoring Program. The four recipients are
     Dr. Jedsada Manyam, researcher from National Nanotechnology Center;
     Asst. Prof. Dr. Onuma Kaewkla from the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Mahasarakham University;
     Asst. Prof. Dr. Verawan Uchaipichat from Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khon Kaen University; and
     Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wanchai Assavalapsakul from the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University

The four recipients will depart for Australia in the middle of this year to conduct research with their Australian mentors in various fields including renewable energy, healthcare and food and agriculture. The Australian Government is supporting the four recipients to undertake a one-month research mentoring program at and Australian university. The program will also support their Australian mentors to visit Thailand for a follow up visit and additional mentoring support.

The Australian Government commence this program considering that mentoring is important for academic career development and contributes to building a high-performing and collegiate workforce. Academic staff and researchers will be provided an opportunity to broaden their knowledge, skills and experience. The participating alumni will also become ambassadors for the Endeavour program and for Australian Education and Research.
