Mahasarakham University and Universiti Teknologi Petronas Extend Collaboration

On 18 May 2017, Mahasarakham University (MSU) administrators and staff led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chonlatee Photong, MSU Assistant to the President for Public Relations and International Affairs warmly welcomed delegates from Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Malaysia.
The delegates from UTP led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eswaran Padmanabhan, Director of Enhanced Oil Recovery visited MSU to discuss on sharing research facility/ laboratories, postgraduate research opportunities, joint research grants and working on join publications with MSU.
The collaboration between MSU and UTP began in 2013 enable the universities to develop new areas of research and learning, share and disseminate information and documentations between the Department of Geosciences, Faculty of Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering, UTP and the Faculty of Science, MSU and set up joint research projects related to the documentation fossil and living flora and fauna of South East Asia, as well as research into associated evolutionary, climate and environmental changes.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Mongkol Udchachon, Associate Dean for Research and Academic 
Services, MSU Faculty of Science, Asst. Prof. Dr. Adisak Pattiya, Head of MSU Bio-Energy and Renewable Resources Research Laboratory, and Mr. Clive Francis Burrett, Researcher at MSU Palaeontological Research and Education Centre also attended the meeting to discuss the possibility of developing mutually beneficial relationships between researchers, staff, students and their faculties.
Both universities have agreed to renew their successful and innovative partnership in science and paleontology education and extend collaboration in the areas of engineering and business management for another five years.
