5 awesome MSU students win scholarships to attend Leadership Student Boot Camp in the Republic of Bulgaria
On May 26, 2022, Assistant Professor Dr. Peera Phanlukthao, Assistant to the President for International Affairs and Global Engagement together with staff of the Office of International Affairs, Public Relations and International Affairs Division, Mahasarakham University brought 5 students, namely Ms. Panphasa Butruang, Mr. At Dechalert, students of the College of Politics and Governance, Mr. Amnat Saenthaweesuk, Mr. Supakorn Klomklom and Mr. Thanakorn Milintanuch, students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences to meet Associate Professor Dr. Prayook Srivilai, President of Mahasarakham University at the meeting room 3, Boromrajakumari Building Mahasarakham University.
In a meeting, students received a testimony on the opportunity to obtain an exchange scholarship under the FRIENDS project, which is a joint venture of Mahasarakham University under Erasmus+ and will travel to join the Student Boot Camp leadership activities during June 3 – July 5, 2022 at Varna University of Management, Republic of Bulgaria. All 5 eligible students have applied for the project and passed the test by participating in a variety of activities, including registering for an intercultural passport, taking a 5 chapter- 18 IACD, MOOC online course and applying for a digital storytelling contest that explores intercultural experiences. (Intercultural Experience)
Erasmus+ is known as European project that supports education, training youth and sport in Europe. With a budget of more than 14.7 billion euros, the cooperation in 55 countries, including 34 program countries (Program Countries) and partner countries (21 program participants), Erasmus+ aims to exchange knowledge and education, creates friendship and giving opportunities to university students for bachelor's degree, master's degree, doctorate, professors, researchers, staff from various universities to have come to study in the European union. For the FRIENDS program under Erasmus+, Furthering International Relations Capacities and Intercultural Engagement to Nurture Campus Diversity and to Support Internationalisation at Mahasarakham University is a joint project of 16 universities from 9 countries in Asia and Europe.
The FRIENDS program also supports and drives many goals for sustainable development as follow:
SDG 5: Gender Equality, end all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere
SDG 10: Reduce inequalities within and among countries
SDG 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development
