MSU researchers discovered The World's 5 new Land Snails from The Northeastern Region of Thailand
 
Asst. Prof. Dr.Chanidaporn Tumpeesuwan and Asst. Prof. Dr.Sakboworn Tumpeesuwan lecturers from Department of Biology Faculty of Science Mahasarakham University together with lecturer from Srinakharinwirot University Ongkharak Campus discovered five new species of land snail in the world. Added to the discovery of Landouria strobiloides Tumpeesuwan & Tumpeesuwan, 2019 from limestone and Sandstone Mountains in Loei and Khon Kaen provinces, namely Landouria circinata Nahok et al., 2021, Landouria tuberculata Nahok et al., 2021. , Landouria trochomorphoides Nahok et al., 2021, Landouria chloritoides Nahok et al., 2021, and Landouria elegans Nahok et al., 2021.
 
This research shows that the limestone mountain region and the Sandstone Mountains in Northeastern Thailand are an area of great biodiversity waiting to be discovered. If people help to preserve their own local natural areas. These resources may be used for value-added research for sustainable use in the future.
