MSU Organizes the World Wetlands Day 2020
Prof. Dr. Anongrit Kangrang, the Vice President of Mahasarakham University, presides over the opening ceremony for the World Wetlands Day 2020 organized by Walai Rukhavej Botanical Research Institute, Mahasarakham University on February 6, 2020 at the Walai Rukhavej Botanical Research Institute (Bankerng Station), Mahasarakham University.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weerachai Saijanta, the Director of Walai Rukhavej Botanical Research Institute said that the World Wetlands Day is annually on February 2. It is relating to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance especially as Waterfowl Habitat, an international treaty for the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands which was signed on February 2, 1971.
For this year, many fun and enjoyable activities are launched to persuade everyone to conserve the wetlands. Students are entertained with the paper butterfly making game, fish and pigs catching marathon game, beach volleyball game. There are also the interesting exhibitions to honor His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, the exhibition of butterfly garden, the Dinosaur study station, biology study station, and more.
