A Day of MSU International Students:Touching Thai Culture
On February 3, 2014, MSU-IRO under the leadership of Assistant to the President for International Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Prapairat Seephonkai organized the whole day affair for the International Students of MSU with the theme, “A Day of MSU International Students: Touching Thai Cultures". The purpose of the said event was to bring altogether the MSU International Students and develop a good inter-relationship amongst and towards MSU. And at the same time, let them to embrace some Thai Cultures in different activities included.
The one day affair has been divided into 3 stages, a Workshop at the MSU Students Development Building in the morning with Mr. Phanat Preewatsana of the Division of Students Affair who talked on "Effective Club Organization". And from the short talk, MSU-IRO Ms. Tharnthip Kaeothachat led the students through Brainstorming on "Better MSU".
On the second stage at the Canteen of MSU Demonstration School, MSU-IRO let the international students touched Thai Culture in terms of preparing/cooking some Thai foods such as Som-Tam (Papaya Salad), PadThai (Fried Noodles) and Bhunsen (Glass Noodle Salad). And the students enjoyed the demonstration and afterwards they prepared/cooked all the Thai foods by themselves.
For the final stage, the Dinner Reception and Singing Contest at the MSU Staff Club attended by the Vice President for Administration, Asst. Prof. Dr. Rumpai Gaensakoo, Representatives from the MSU Confucius and some faculties who have been panel of judges for the Singing Contest and impersonated some popular artists, Shakira (Dr. Chutima Ruanguttamanun, MBS Lecturer) and Beyonce (Ajarn. Purnima Iyer, HUSOC Lecturer). They really gave more entertainment to the last stage of the activity.
It was a very successful activity indeed that might turn into an annual activity for the MSU International Students and Faculties as well.
