Northeastern Leaf-inscription Conservation Center

The Northeastern Leaf-inscription Conservation Center was established in order to explore, conserve, transfer and research various aspects of palm leaf documents. Dr Pavich Thongroj, the first president of Mahasarakham University, assigned Assist Prof Weena Weesapen to work on the project.

The Center's mission includes exploring and conserving palm leaf documents in the Isan region; transforming palm leaf documents to formats that enable publication; operating seminars and workshops on Isan ancient alphabets; and researching palm leaf documents (both basic research and applied research) focusing on interdisciplinary and academic integration.
