The Chalermprakiat Agricultural Technology Transfer Center, Mahasarakham University has known for another name as MSU FARM. It was established since 1998, and has proven one of Mahasarakham University’s well growing and successful organizations in terms of:

1. Training skill and practice pre and post graduate of of Mahasarakham University in various areas of animal production such as animal nutrition, animal physiology, animal biotechnology, animal breeding, animal hygiene and animal production management.

2. Promoting and transferring innovation of knowledge involving agriculture derived from the integration of modern technology and local technical know for development communities.

3. Promoting researchers of Mahasarakham University to produce agricultural research, particularly animal science research and veterinary medicine research.

4. Managing agricultural business by various agriculture production, particularly animal production for getting more money to promote mission of Mahasarakham University.

The farm is located on area about 1,000 rai (1,600,000 square meters) in Kantharawichai of Mahasarakham Province, which is far from Mahasarakham University for about 15 kilometers. Currently, there are 4 departments which are involving in various roles;

  1.  Department of Animal Feed

Each year, approximately 350 tons of the best quality concentrate have been produced by modern feedstuff mixing engine to support various animal productions of ourselves such as swine, poultry, dairy cattle and beef cattle.

  1. Department of Ruminant (Beef Cattle and Dairy Cattle)

We have well hygienic process equipment to produce milk. Currently, more than 100 kilograms a day of the best quality milk are produced from healthy Holstein Friesian. In the field of beef cattle, we are not only focusing on Brahman Crossbred, but also improving high beef quality.

  1. Department of Non-ruminant (Swine and Poultry)

Approximately 7,500 eggs a day are produced from healthy laying hens. We have 2 EVAP houses that contain about 7,500 laying hens inside. In the field of swine, each month, more than 40 perfect finishing pigs are produced from about 80 healthy breeding pigs.

There are many types of agriculture engine to support FARM’s activities. The purpose of this department is not only to produce a good quality of forage field for ruminant, but also to maintain and repair agriculture engines, equipments and buildings and also to do securities.
